Dark Is The Night

Dark is the night and great the toll
Of mortals both blind and bound.
There is a light that seeks the soul
Where darkness may not be found.

Hear what the ancient scripture tells,
As voices of truth are heard.
Christ is the source wherein there dwells
The heart of His wondrous word.

"Bide in my love," the Savior said,
"Was ever a love like mine?
I am the Lamb, whose blood was shed,
    By sacrifice deemed divine".

Fear not the evil of the night,
    But boldly arise and stand.
No longer need we quake with fright.
Our spirits are in God's hand.
