Kindness

Words of kindness gently spoken
    Strike a tuneful tone above.
There discordant strings are broken
    By the harmony of love.

Vision stems from simple kindness
Seen in sacred script and scroll,
Lending light to bitter blindness
Through the senses of the soul.

Kindness, like a restful river,
Winds its way through foul or fair
That its waters may deliver
    Peace that overcomes despair.

God gives kindness in full measure
Through the daily deeds He does,
And derives much joy and pleasure
When the same is true of us.
