Verse of the Day
“And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.” - Luke 12:4
Quote of the Day
“There is no doctrine which I would more willingly remove from Christianity than the doctrine of hell, if it lay in my power. But it has the full support of Scripture and, especially, of our Lord's own words; it has always been held by the Christian Church, and it has the support of reason.” - C. S. Lewis

On this day, in the year 1743... "Began to study the Indian tongue, with Mr. Sargeant, at Stockbridge. [The commissioners who employed him, had directed him to spend much time this winter with Mr. Sergeant, to learn the language of the Indians; which necessitated him very often to ride backward and forward, twenty miles through the uninhabited woods between Stockbridge and Kaunaumeek; which many times exposed him to extreme hardship in the severe seasons of the winter.] Was perplexed for want of more retirement. I love to live alone in my own little cottage, where I can spend much time in prayer, &c."
Mark Cahill's Monthly News It is the month of November again: the month where we here in America celebrate our Thanksgiving to God holiday. For many of us, it is a great time to get together with family and friends, and to travel to see some relatives we don't get to see often. We have just had our Presidential election here in America. As I write this, there is some major economic turmoil in our country. But let's be honest, we all have much for which we can be thankful....
Is God Angry With America? Ray Comfort stirs up the congregation at Maranatha Fellowship Church in St. Albans, West Virginia. What would you say if someone asked, "Is God angry with America"? Message recorded October 5, 2008.

Ray Comfort's Monthly Column I was having a tough time. I couldn't draw a crowd. In fact, I couldn't draw a thing. That's why I had photocopied a picture of John Wayne onto a large piece of paper and was coloring it in with paints. I couldn't figure it out. When my friends used a sketch board while speaking in public, at least a few people gathered. This day, no one bothered to give me a second look. I was planning to color in the picture and speak about how John Wayne lived and died as portrayed by Hollywood, and how he lived and died in real life. Death was no problem to the Duke; it was commonplace in the westerns in which he starred. So when it came to real life, one would think it wouldn't have bothered him too much. Naturally, it did. He called for Billy Graham to come to his bedside as he lay dying of cancer. The fact is, there's a Hollywood world, and then there's a real world. It is one thing to go out in a blaze of glory in a cowboy movie, but it's another thing to fade away under the merciless hand of a terminal disease. Anyway, there was no point in having a good illustration when there was no one to hear it....
The Voice of the Martyrs On June 28, Hemanta Das, a Christian convert from Hinduism to Christianity, was brutally beaten by suspected members of a religious fanatic group. Das, a former member of the Hindutva fanatic group known as Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, died four days later in a local hospital. The Council of Baptist Churches in Northeast India has declared Brother Das the first Assamese martyr. Das was a member of the Guwahati Baptist Church. The Voice of the Martyrs' contacts in India report, "On several occasions, Brother Das was cautioned by radical groups of the dire consequences that would follow if he tried to convert people to Christianity." Christian leaders in Assam state say that this murder case has been reported to local police, but police have not yet found those responsible. Pray for the family of Brother Das and for the Holy Spirit to convict those responsible for this attack. Ask God to protect and encourage Christians in India. John 14:27, Colossians 3:15
Kirk Cameron's Monthly Column As a backslidden atheist, I was fascinated by a recent interview with Lee Strobel (The Case for Christ) and world famous philosophical atheist-turned-creationist, Anthony Flew (to watch, see LeeStrobel.com). After watching this 83-year-old Oxford professor, a fun apologetic equation popped into my mind that has proven effective with skeptics.
Plain and simple -- top atheist, Anthony Flew, has changed his mind about God. He said that Albert Einstein was right when he felt that there must be intelligence behind the integrated complexities in the natural world. In simple English, that means that Einstein said that dead things like rocks, metal, plastic, light, and air are made up of such complicated systems that depend on each other to exist, that there must be some intelligent being that put them together. "Mr. E=MC2" said that....

Over 55,000 Christians Martyred Each Year A German Religious Liberty Commission reports that as least 55,000 Christians are killed every year for their faith. Believers in India, Indonesia and Pakistan are at the greatest risk. Voice of the Martyrs describes one incident that did not result in the death of the pastor, but who barely survived a merciless beating. While passing out literature on the street in India, Pastor M. Aharon was mobbed by about 100 Hindu "radicals." Police prevented his escape...
